Biography

Born near Chatham, Ontario, Canadian poet Archibald Lampman (1861-1899) worked at the Post Office Department in Ottawa from the time he was 22 until his death at 37. He also led an active literary life as one of the Confederation Poets, a group determined to create a distinctly Canadian poetry. Lampmanā€™s work celebrates nature and rural life.
