Ivor Gurney

English poet and composer Ivor Gurney was suffered serious wounds while fighting in World War I and had a history of mental health issues that began before he was a soldier. Though he was a prolific songwriter and poet, he spent the last fifteen years of his life in an institution, where he died of tuberculosis.
