Born in Yorkshire, England, Andrew Marvell (1621-1678) was a metaphysical poet associated with John Donne and George Herbert. Educated at Cambridge, Marvell is best known for his poem β€œTo His Coy Mistress.” A Parliamentarian β€” the group who fought against King Charles I and his Cavaliers β€” he worked with John Milton under Oliver Cromwell.
