Biography
Though ordained as an Episcopal priest, Ontario-born Wilfred Campbell (1858-1918) left the clergy after six years and became a civil servant in Ottawa. One of the Confederation poets, Campbell wrote drama, fiction, and journalism. He is best known, however, for his lyrical nature poems, particularly those about winter lakes.
