Spoken word and “page poetry”: Where’s the common ground?

While it may seem as though spoken word and “page poetry” (and its recitation) are two completely distinct genres, the notion of sharing words aloud has always been central to both. So instead of underlining their differences, we’d like to ask you: Where and how do spoken word and “page poetry” overlap? How can they influence one another, both in the classroom and in the wider poetry community?
