Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Ocean Vuong is an American poet and essayist living in Northampton, Massachussetts, where he serves as an Assistant Professor in the MFA Program for Poets and Writers at UMass-Amherst. His first book of poetry, Night Sky with Exit Wounds, was nominated for many awards, such as the Lambda Literary Award, and won both the Whiting Award and Thom Gunn Award.
