I have a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in anti-racist education. I have experience teaching students in highschool (English, Social Studies, French) as well as elementary school (grade 4/5). I love incorporating a human rights and social justice perspective into my units so that students are encouraged to become active, reflective and critically aware citizens on concepts that matter to me such as democracy, participation, equality, poverty and human rights. Poetry is a vehicle for expression that engages and awakens students of all ages to a deeper understanding in life. It is often under-utilized and "Poetry in Voice" is helping teachers find meaningful ways to engage their students through poetry!
