snow.

She takes my insecurities and doubts-
The Loud Thoughts-
And crushes them into snow.
As the negatives accumulate she stays,
Rolling out the pain, she builds snowmen.
Though without any gloves-
She takes my frostbitten hands,
Kissing the tips my mind stops playing tricks.
She gives me her jacket when the memories start to shiver
And she holds me close when time begins to grow.
She sits with me in the cold, She doesn’t let go.
She makes my world go quiet.
Quite like the snow.

“This poem is about someone really special to me and how she makes me feel. We all grow up with love poems weather it's through literature, the television or the music we grow up to, but it is something completely different when you write about it. Reading or hearing about love I'd role my eyes or feel giddy kicking my feet, but when writing this poem it just felt true. She makes my world quite and that's something I've never had, my mind was always loud and wasn't kind to me, but she makes those thoughts go quite like cars on a road during a heavy snowfall. 11:14 Nov 27 2024.”
