Lesson Introduction
Using Poetry in Voice’s mixtape—My Body, My House-Disability Poetics—and other works from disabled poets and advocates, students will explore ableism—what it is, how it is defined, its relation to visibility/invisibility and pain, and ways to counteract its insidiousness.
